Genus of about 30 species of deciduous and evergreen shrubs found on hillsides and in open woodland from the Himalayas to E. Asia, and in Mexico. Abelia grandiflora (hybrid A. chinensis x A. uniflora) is only one variety grown as a houseplant, it is evergreen shrub with attractive flowers. |
