Genus of about 14 species of monoecious, evergreen, sometimes rhizomatous shrubs found in moist, shady places, forest, and thickers from Сhina to Himalayas and S.E. Asia. Sarcococca is a foliage evergreen plant. Little flowers are not attractive. Most popular are 2 varietis: Sarcococca saligna Muell. and Sarcococca hookeriana Baill. |

Grow in moist, well-drained soil in deep or partial shade. Full sun is tolerated if the soil remains moist. Shetter from wind. |
