Stems segmented, densely branching. Segments short, about 1-2˝ long, compressed in leaf-like manner, with blunt tips and dentate edges. - Zygocactus truncatus. Stems not segmented, flat, leaf-like, quite fleshy, with prominent longitudinal edge and toothed margins. Besides flat stems, plants may have ones triangular and round in cross section but flat ones prevail. - Epiphyllum.
